No one has ever seen God; God the only Son, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.
- John 1:18
When you look at a nativity scene, what do you see? A sweet beginning to a beautiful story? While that's not wrong, it's incomplete. Christmas is actually a portal - a doorway between the eternal and the temporal, between heaven and earth, between God's realm and ours. Bethlehem wasn't Jesus' starting point; it was His entry point into our world. Like stepping through a doorway from one room to another, Jesus moved from the invisible realm where He had always existed into the visible world where we could see Him, touch Him, and know Him personally. The manger scene represents the moment when the infinite God made Himself finite, when the invisible became visible. This portal opened up possibilities that had never existed before. For centuries, people could only approach God through elaborate temple rituals, sacrifices, and priestly mediation. But when Jesus stepped through that Christmas portal, He began dismantling every barrier between us and the Father. The baby who couldn't yet speak would grow up to declare, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." Every time we celebrate Christmas, we're celebrating the opening of that portal. We're not just remembering a historical event - we're acknowledging the ongoing reality that heaven and earth are now connected through Jesus. The same access that began in Bethlehem continues today. Through that Christmas portal, we can approach God's throne with confidence, knowing we're welcomed as beloved children.
Explore & examine the areas of your life that God needs to come under the truth. Take a moment to commit & surrender these areas in prayer.
After, tell and share with others what God is teaching you! Try this:

I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
